1. Spring Meal Plans are now available for purchase!
Next week we will begin sales of Spring 2009 Semester Meal Plans! ALL are
welcome to purchase a meal plan - community members, faculty, students!!
Our meal plans range from 30 - 70 meal blocks. Meals are served every
weekday from January 19th to May 1st (excluding Feb. 19-20 and March
16-20), with vegetarian and vegan options. We make every effort to
provide gluten-free options 3 days a week.
Consider the working meal plan, a great way to be more connected with the
co-op and with your food amidst a busy schedule (added bonus - 14%
discount on the price of your meal plan). Just sign up for one hour of
work per week - and mark it in your planner. Help us make this a healthy
and yummy semester!
Please stop by the co-op this weekend or next week to pick up a meal plan
brochure. You may sign up for a meal plan and either pay in full (check,
cash, or charge), or agree to pay in full by January 30th!
2. 2009 Peace Calendars - 25% discount!
The 2009 Peace Calendars from Syracuse Cultural Workers are here and are
available now at 25% off!! This calendar includes bright illustrations
and photos, and is a “celebration of life, progressive values and
resistance”!
3. 2009 is the year to eat local! Come to the Wayne County
100-mile-radius Potluck!
From Anna Lisa Gross and progressivewaynecounty.org:
May 2009 bring much joy and opportunity to your life, and may this be the
year you eat MORE LOCAL FOOD than EVER before!
The January 100 mile radius potluck will be on Saturday the 17th at 6pm in
Orchard Room (in Earlham’s Runyan Center). You still have plenty of time
to plan a dish! If you need ingredients, check out the local food guide at
www.progressivewaynecounty.org. The directory lists dozens of farms within
30 miles of Richmond!
Parking is available quite close to Orchard Room, both south and east of
Runyan, but both are 30 minute lots. Longer-term parking can be found next
to Carpenter Hall (on the northwest edge of campus) or by Olvey-Andis
Hall, between the library and the meetinghouse. (This is still a very
short walk.)
If you can’t figure out what to bring, come anyway! There’s always enough
food to go around, and delicious fellowship! Please bring your own dishes,
if possible.
Contact me with any questions: 914.2973. Remember you can stop by the
Clear Creek Co-op on your way in to the potluck for a last minute local
treat.
Happy cooking!
Anna Lisa
