Co-op Update: August 3-10

1. Last Minute Closure: Saturday, August 4th
Due to a short-notice power-down in our building, the co-op will be closed
tomorrow, Saturday, August 4th.  We will, however, be open Monday, August
6th, from noon to 7 pm.

2. Invitation from the Board to join Action Committees!
As a result of the lively discussion at the Co-op Board retreat last
evening, the board has formed 4 short-term action committees, to which the
board invites any and all members who would like to be a part of the
discussion:

Mission and Goals Committee will tweak and revise the co-op's current
mission statement and discuss the co-op vision, short and long-term goals.
Monday, August 6th, 5:15 pm at the Co-op.

Marketing Committee will brainstorm and refine strategies for reaching a
wider audience in the Richmond area.
Thursday, August 30th, 5:15 pm at the Co-op.

Membership Committee will talk about what it means to be a member of this
co-op, discuss alternatives to our current "membership structure" and
brainstorm ways to encourage member involvement in co-op
activities/events.
Wednesday, August 29th, Noon, Location TBA

The Products/Services Committee will discuss what
values/principles/criteria do/should drive what services we provide and
which products we carry.

3. Sales and Such!
Woodstock Farms 2% Organic Milk (half gallon) is on sale until Wednesday,
Aug. 8th for $2.99 (reg. price $4.99)!  Also, be on the lookout for our
August Monthly Sales coming next week!


4. Welcome to our new Kitchen staff!
We are pleased to introduce two new additions to the co-op team! 
Constance Hancock, Kitchen Manager, and Eileen Kinch, Assistant Kitchen
Manager/Deli Manager, will be joining us in a few weeks to execute our
meal plan and deli programs during the 2007-2008 academic year!  We are
excited about the skills, commitment and energy that Constance and Eileen
bring to our community!


5. Switch back to regular hours/Meal Plan beginning soon!
As we move into August, be aware that we will soon be switching back to
regular hours and will be selling meal plans soon!

"Regular" hours will begin Monday, August 20th:
Mon-Thurs  11am to 8pm
Friday     11am to 6pm
Sat-Sun    12pm to 5pm

Meal plan packages will be available for purchase beginning August 20th
and the meal plan will begin on August 27th.
