Co-op Update: August 3-10

1. "Back to School" doesn't mean as much to me anymore since my life
rhythms haven't been following the academic calendar for awhile.  However,
being on a college campus again, I'm very aware that students are
returning to school and business is starting to pick up again after a lull
over the summer.  Remember that beginning Monday, August 20th, our store
hours switch back to:

Mon-Thurs  11am to 8pm
Friday     11am to 6pm
Sat-Sun    12pm to 5pm

2.  With the start of school, hot lunches return and although anyone can
buy a lunch at the Co-op for $6, people interested in purchasing meals
plans can stop by the Co-op and pick up brochures that list the different
plans/prices available.  Meal plans will go on sale Mon. Aug. 20th, and
plans need to be paid for by Sept. 17th (and remember that there's a 1%
discount if paid with a check or cash!)  The first lunch will be served on
Mon. 8/27.  With the addition of a "Deli Manager" we hope to increase
available options for people interested in our wraps, chips, and drinks.

3.  Over the summer, we encouraged people to buy produce at local farmers'
markets, but next week we will start ordering produce again from B&B
Organics out of Mishawaka, WI.  In addition, we will start putting in an
order every Thursday with United Natural Foods, our largest supplier
starting Thursday Aug. 16.

4.  Anyone can buy coffee beans (and grind them) at the Co-op, but if you
brew alot of coffee and want to join our "coffee list" we can supply it,
and you can buy it for less in bulk.  Talk to me, Jon.  Or leave me a
message, and I'll include you in the email I send out before I place my
monthly coffee order.
