Co-op Update: August 17-24

1.  New kitchen staff, cashiers to begin next week!
Next week, we'll be welcoming our new kitchen staff, Constance Hancock
(Kitchen Manager) and Eileen Kinch (Asst Kitchen Manager/Deli Manager). 
Look out for Constance's menu next Friday and come in and enjoy Eileen's
tasty wraps.
Also, our new team of student cashiers will be meeting and beginning
training on Tuesday - welcome back to Daniel Wentworth and Arthur Weiss,
and to the newbies, Jenny Larsen and Laura Gleason!!  We're excited to
have everyone on the team!

2.  Meal plans available for purchase
Information on the Fall 2007 meal plans are available at the co-op.  Both
working and non-working meal plans may be purchased beginning Monday,
August 20th.  We hope to have a full team of 40 volunteer workers to run
the meal plan.  Also, with the addition of a Deli Manager, there may be
some volunteer openings available in the area of sandwich delivery to EC
faculty and staff, so keep your eyes peeled if you have interest!

3.  Monday back to regular academic year hours
We will be closed both tomorrow and Sunday.  On Monday we return to
"regular" hours.
Mon-Thurs  11 am to 8 pm
Friday  11 am to 6 pm
Sat-Sun  12 pm to 5 pm

4.  Back to regular ordering schedule!
Next week also marks our shift back to more frequent orders to our
suppliers -  which means you don't have to plan your bulk orders so far in
advance!  As before, we will order every Thursday from United Natural
Foods (order arrives Monday).  We will also begin our once a month order
to Frontier and an order into B & B Organics every other Thursday (next
one will be this Thursday, August 23rd).

5.  Goodbye to Naked Juices!
We were disappointed to learn that Naked Juices have been bought out by
Pepsi Co.  Consequently, our supplier (B & B Organics) no longer carries
them.  Also, in keeping with our co-operative values, we will be seeking a
similar juice smoothie item, probably organic.  One option presented to us
by B & B was Columbia Gorge, which is slightly more expensive per bottle,
but organic.  We will purchase a few flavors next week.  Your feedback
and/or ideas on this matter are welcome!
