2. BetterWorldShopper.com - A Helpful Resource for Conscientious Consumers
Over the holiday break, Janelle's sister gave us a small book called "The
Better World Shopping Guide". This very helpful resource has helped us
track how well the products/brands we carry at the co-op are using
sustainable and responsible business practices. Companies are split into
categories and given a "grade" based on how attentive they are to
environmental issues, sustainability, human rights concerns, etc.

For example, we learned that Boca (they make veggie burgers) is affiliated
with the corporate offender Altria (Philip-Morris). This book is a good
resource to have with you as you shop, and the website
BetterWorldShopper.com may prove to be useful to you as well. If anyone
would like to take a look at the book, we've got it behind the desk here
at the co-op! Come by and see us!

3. Local Bee Products now available!
John Snowden of Centerville, IN, who provides the honey for our bulk bin,
recently added several items to our store, including honey bears for $2.81
each, beeswax candles for $2.50 a pair, and honeybee pollen (great
energy/immune boosting supplement!) for $7.00 a jar! Come try them out
and support a local beekeeper!

4. Wellness Fair - Calling all members!
The 7th Annual Wellness Fair, hosted by the Earlham College Wellness
Committee, will be taking place on March 6th from noon to 4 pm at the
Earlham College Wellness Center, right next to the co-op. The purpose of
the fair is to "foster an interactive, demonstrative, hands-on environment
where exhibitors and participants have an open dialogue regarding health
and wellness issues and resources within the Wayne County Community."

As in years past, the co-op will host a booth for the fair and we need
several volunteers who are willing to spend time at the booth, talking
with participants about the products and services offered at the co-op.
Your donation of 1 to 4 hours time would be greatly appreciated, and
naturally, will earn you an additional discount at the co-op for that
week.

Please let us know as soon as possible of your interest - by calling or
emailing Janelle. See contact number below.
