Co-op Update: March 7-14, 2008 1. Meal Plan Menus 2. Abundant Acres offering CSA opportunity this growing season! 3. NOW Bulk Orders, anyone? 4. March 29th is Inventory Day! 1. Meal Plan Menus Meals served 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vegan options every day. Gluten-free where indicated with an asterisk. Monday - Udon noodles with Peanut sauce, salad *Tuesday - Tofu meatloaf, California Blend (broc., carrots, cauli.), salad *Wednesday - Eggplant Usaka *Thursday - Greek style zucchini casserole, salad Friday - Leftover day!!!!!!, salad, desert 2. Abundant Acres offering CSA opportunity this growing season! The co-op is happy to pass on the following information about a Community Shared Agriculture program for the 2008 growing seasons: The Baxter family of Abundant Acres Farm in Williamsburg announces the 2008 Community Supported Agriculture Share Program. The Complete Harvest Package consists of a weekly share (4 people) of vegetables for 18 weeks (May-Sept.), two dozen all natural brown eggs per week, twenty dressed free range chickens per season, two bars of goat milk soap per month and one Thanksgiving turkey. Total cost: $750 Or, you can custom order your harvest: Weekly share of veggies for 18 weeks: $450 Half Share of veggies (feeds 2 people): $250 Eggs for $2.00 per dozen Chickens at $11.00 per bird (approx. 5 lbs) Goat Milk Soap at $3.00 per bar Thanksgiving Turkey at $30 each Vegetables consist of (but not limited to): tomatoes, green beans, potatoes, peppers, spinach, onions, peas, beets, carrots, cucumbers, eggplant, squash, zucchini and a variety of herbs. We've begun ordering from NOW Foods once again! If you have an item (supplements and other supplemental foods) from NOW that you'd like to bulk order, please let us know in the coming week or so. We'll help you maneuver the NOW catalogue! 4. March 29th is Inventory Day! Mark your calendars! Our Spring Inventory is coming up on Saturday, March 29th! This is a great way to earn a good discount for a week at the co-op! Come for one hour - 5%; two hours - 10%; and three or more hours - 15%!! We'll begin at 9 a.m. with counting and weighing items, as well as completing some other important spring cleaning tasks! Come join your community of like-minded souls! Support this great co-operative effort - the more the merrier! 5. WMUB drive - calling volunteers! The co-op has sent volunteers to staff the phones for a 4 hour time slot during the WMUB (NPR radio) member drive. From March 26th through April 2nd, the Spring drive is taking place once again. If there is volunteer interest, we are willing to take a group down for one of the morning weekday slots (5:30 - 9 a.m. or 8:30 to noon).
