Co-op Update May 9-16, 2008 1. Co-op seeking volunteers for the summer! 2. Our Open Hours in May and Summer Ordering Schedule 3. Come try some of our newly added products! 4. Help yourself to fresh herbs at the co-op! 1. Co-op seeking volunteers for the summer! Maybe you are looking for a way to chill out in the middle of the summer heat. Or maybe you need to commune with whole grains and Tofutti Cuties. Maybe you have just always wanted to help out the Co-op! The summer is a time at the Co-op where things slow down. But it doesn't mean we take a total break! We are looking for some Co-op supporters who could give some time here and there to assist the managers in everyday operations and/or cashier at the Co-op in the moments when Jon and Janelle will need to be out of town. We keep going, but as you probably could guess, our finances take the "dog days" of summer literally and it is unfeasible to keep a fully paid staff to help with this backup. If you can help us out by being a regular volunteer assistant or volunteer cashier on an "as needed"basis, please contact Jon and Janelle at the Co-op. 983-1547. 2. Our Open Hours in May and our Summer Ordering Schedule During the month of May up until Memorial Day, we will keep the following store hours: Monday-Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday noon to 5 p.m. On Monday, May 26th, the co-op will be CLOSED, after which the co-op will moved to our reduced summer hours: Tuesday-Friday 12 to 7 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday-Monday CLOSED Also, in the summer, we will order EVERY OTHER THURSDAY from United Natural Foods. Orders from Frontier Natural Co-op will be made on an as needed basis. So please plan your bulk orders accordingly, by putting in your orders well in advance of when you need your items. 3. Come try some of our newly added products! We've added some exciting new products we truly think you will enjoy! - Preserve Medium and Soft Bristle Toothbrushes (made from recycled plastics!) - Montana Monster Munchies Wheat-Free Cookies - made with Rolled Oats, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chips and/or Raisins - Swissland Cheese Co. (from Berne, IN) - added flavors include "Chedda Wine" and "Chedda Cranberry/Almond" - TradersPoint Creamery - Pourable Yogurts in Banana/Mango, and Plain, as well as Whole Plain and Chocolate "Creamline" Milk - Virgil's Wheat-Free Root Beer in a bottle! Tastes like IBC! 4. Help yourself to fresh herbs at the co-op! With all of this wonderful spring rain, our herbs, both indoors and outdoors, are in their full green glory! Outside in front, we have plenty of mint and sage, as well as some parsley and cilantro coming up! (There are also a few things we're not sure we have identified correctly, but they sure are tasty!) Indoors, in the back window box, we have much more parsley and cilantro, with mint and rosemary not far behind. As the summer progresses, we'll be using as much of these herbs as we can in our freshly made wraps, but won't be able to keep up - so, please come help yourself! Also, we'd appreciate your recipe ideas! Happy Mother's Day!! -- Clear Creek Food Cooperative "Food for Life, Not for Profit Since 1972" 765-983-1547 701 W.
